Name: Racine, House of Uladorith
Age: 26
Sex: Female
Race: Human; Southron
Job: Monarch
Plot: Racine pretty much started the war with her attack on Ithilien and is constantly plotting the downfall of Gondor.
Personality:
Racine can never be overlooked, her very presence commands attention; her height can usually guarantee this. Racine is naturally dramatic; almost nobody can compete with her pride and when her vanity is damaged, she suffers so considerably even her health is impaired. Because her emotional force springs directly from the heart, Racine feels deeply, often resorting to arrogance in an effort to hide her sensitivity. She is a perfectionist, though she denies such claims with furiousity. All that is truly beautiful around her is appreciated, admired, and delighted in. She is fiercely independent, needing to have the space to make her own decisions about her next step.
She is prone to occasional emotional outbursts due to her inattention to her own feelings. She's also harshly critical of not only herself, but of others. She does not usually give herself enough credit for her achievements, seeing her accomplishments simply as the natural fulfillment of her obligations. Under stress, Racine may fall into "catastrophe mode", where she sees nothing but all of the possibilities of what could go wrong. She will berate herself for things which she should have done differently, or duties which she failed to perform. She will lose her ability to see things calmly and reasonably, and will depress herself with her visions of doom.
History:
Racine is the second born child to the royals of Harad. By now her parents were beginning to despair for their seemed to be no end to the line of female heirs. What's more, they were all sickly female heirs. Racine's sister was a weak being and died before Racine was even 3. Her parents were desperate for a strong male to take the throne after the King of Harad but their efforts were rewarded with the death of the mother in child birth and a stillborn male. All efforts against Racine seemed to end in failure; even an arranged marriage collapsed when the fiance died. Racine was to be the successor to the throne, and some even called her a Witch Child. Grudgingly, the father sent her to be trained by political experts, scholars and warriors.
Racine was pretty much uninvolved with the War of the Ring right up until the end when her father rode out into the Pellinor Fields and he was crushed to death by his own Mumak. Racine's corrination occured straight after the War of the Ring and then she was left to her own devices. Immediaely, she was having to deal with poverty. The land was one that rarely saw peace and when there was peace they were always distressing times. No aid was sent from Gondor, despite the Peace Treaty.
So she broke it, much to the delight of her people. She created the alliances with the other dark forces and sent her own into Ithilien to cause havoc. When a meeting was held in order to negotiate peace, she tore it down by declaring war. Now, she is back in her homeland of Harad and is sharpening her own weapons, pondering over the next offensive.
Appearance:
Racine stands at 6'0 and her build is typically light and lithe, perhaps undeisrably skinny to some. Her face is round, although appears harsh with defined cheekbones and deep set eyes that cast shadows about her face. Her eyes are big, round and often liberally framed with the dark pigments often used for war paint. Her complexion is a healthy olive. Her hair is often braided wildly and strategically to keep the majority of her dark hair out of her eyes.
Role Playing Sample:
She ignored Faramir's warning and whipped the scmitar out of its hiding place. The jagged edges shone with the light creeping in through the gaps in the pavilion. Steadily, she settled into a stance, stronger right foot forward, weaker left foot behind. Her knees were bent and weight equally distributed. She felt ready. "You forget my country is a poor, warring one. Women do not have luxury to be excluded from war and pampered as your maidens are."
Even so, he was a man, therefore stronger and much heavier than she was. As speedy as Rácine was, she might not be able to block the more heavier strikes. Remembering herself, and where she was, to the despair of her pride and vanity, she sheathed her weapon again and glared at the Steward and King. Her hand, however, did not leave the grip. Her generals stood still with both their weapons still sheathed. They did nothing unless ordered and since the likeliness of the Gondorian's killing a Queen seemed slim, they didn't feel compelled to draw swords.
"Morduath, prepare my party," Rácine growled. "Order for more water to be taken from the river before we set off. Food, as far as I can remember, was enough. However, water is the priority."
The smaller of the generals inclined his head in respect before walking backwards out of the tent. She stood close to her taller and much more trusted general. Her eyes never left the bold Steward and, although dislike wasn't evident in her expression, it was in her voice.
"I do believe that concludes formalities. I shall take my leave."
