Name: Sindohte Runyalos
Age: 1805
Sex: Female
Race: Wood Elf
Job: Healer (animals and beings)/Messenger
Plot:
Sindohte stops on her way to Grey Havens when word reaches the Elves that war has come. She is determined to use her skills as a healer and rider to aid those of the West.
Personality:
Sindohte is a quiet and reserved individual who is interested in security and peaceful living. She has a strongly-felt internal sense of duty, which lends her a serious air and the motivation to follow through on tasks. Organized and methodical in her approach, she can generally succeed at any task which she undertakes.
She is very loyal, faithful, and dependable. She places great importance on honesty and integrity. She is a "good citizen" who can be depended on to do the right thing for her family and community. While she generally takes things very seriously, she also usually has an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun -especially at family or work-related gatherings.
Sindohte is extremely dependable on following through with things which she has promised. Because she has such a strong sense of duty, she may have a difficult time saying "no" and finds herself in a mess she can't handle and far too much to do. She tends to believe in laws and traditions, and expect the same from others. She's not comfortable with breaking laws or going against the rules.
Her compassion and patience makes her ideal in healing. She finds it easy to loose herself within a charge and will give her all to heal someone despite what the strain might do to herself.
History:
Born in Mirkwood, Sindohte had been raised to grow used to the dangers from spiders to orcs. Her father was an officer and aided many of the patrols outside the caves to make sure no threats came too close. Her mother was a herbalist who made antidotes for those who had unfortunate run ins with spiders . . . if they were found. Sindohte often followed her mother about, fascinated by the way tinctures and such were concocted and went from tending to the herbs to helping her mother create her potions.
Her childhood was a relatively comfortable one for one living in Mirkwood. She grew familiar with the trees and forest and as she reached womanhood she began to accompany rangers on treks and heal. It was then when her other talents emerged. One day when her companion, an Elven Archer, fell ill to some spiders, she was to be more than a healer. It was just a party of six and there were now spiders on all sides. Sindohte ran and distracted them all into chasing her. She ran several miles and escaped unhindered before returning to her abandoned party. They were alive and well and soon Legolas' own party found them and rescued them. From then on she became a messenger for her people too.
Sindohte played no part at all in the War of the Ring. She tended; as was usual and ran; as was usual and accompanied patrols; as was usual. As far as she was concerned, the only effect the war had upon her ws the disappearance of her extremely agreeable and admired Prince. (Also note she was extremely disgruntled about him deciding to stay in Ithilien when her duties kept her in Mirkwood). Even so, she had eternity to wait, and so began weaving her way through the trees with seemingly less purpose everyday as the peace drew on. Finally, the entirity of her family decided to leave.
But in Imladris, where she rested, she found she now had something to do. She is now on a long journey to Gondor where she is hoping to be of some use to the people. (She also and always wishes to see Legolas again but who wouldn't?)
Family:
Orodwen - Mother - Herbalist
Andoron - Father - Elven Commander
Appearance:
Role Playing Sample:
Sindohte hovered over the body of her companion with a bottle of tincture in one hand and fresh clean dressing in the other. The man was still gasping from when she had tried to carefully ease out the arrow embedded in his side. However, when it refused to move she told him apologetically she would have to pull harder. Eventually is came out, but the poor man in question had his eyes clamped shut in a desperate effort to ignore the pain.
"I'm sorry," she said sincerely. The Gondorian ranger nodded in simple understanding before laying his head back exhausted onto his rest.
When he was comfortable again, she took the cork out of her bottle and poured the ointment over the dressing, then with a warning, over his wound. A little hiss escaped him but was quickly soothed as the stinging stopped and numbing and cleaning effects of herbal mix began. She smiled and continued dressing.
