Eowyn smoothed out her white and marroon flowing gown that she loved to wear around the house. Her white sleevs hung loose and her dress was long enough for her to trip over if she wasn't careful. Her curly blonde hair was brushed in her face as she was finishing wielding another sword. It had definately been a hot and steamy day, but this was something to ease her worries off from Faramir if he'd ever return.
A playful small smile spread across her lips. Of course he would, he had to and if he didn't she'd go hunting down and killing the man who killed Faramir. Now wasn't the time to be hostile. She reminded herself as she took the nearly finished blade out of the coal and burning fire. She glanced to look at it and then dropped it into the fire again to sharpen the edges and the tip of the sword.

Faramir had returned to Ithilien. He had tied his horse up in the stable before freshening up. He had changed his clothes and washed. He could hear Eowyn at work in another room, probably at the back of the house, working on a sword, no doubt. Faramir frowned. No doubt, she would be thinking about riding out and fighting along side them.
Dressed in a simple greyish-blue robe, his trousers and boots, he walked through the house until he found Eowyn. He walked into the dimly lit room and stood across from her. He gave her a half smile and opened his arms for her to come to him.

Once Eowyn lifted up her arm to rub the grease she felt upon her cheeks she glanced up and her mouth dropped open when she looked across the room. She couldn't believe it! She dropped the sword completely and heard it clatter to the ground. Eowyn lifted up from her seat and ran over to Faramir to give him a huge hug. She wrapped her arms around him and closed her eyes trying hard to bite back the tears that have threatened to fall before.
"You're back..." She muffled within his shirt. There were no words to describe how she felt, but she was definately eccentric. However, Eowyn didn't feel that she was up for the occation of celebrating his return when she looked like scum and smelled. She'd have to make a mental note to go bathe and fix herself into a new dress. However, that was the least of her worries.

Faramir laughed heartilly. She, in his opinion, looked good in anything. He grinned down at her as he wrapped his strong arms around her waist. He had been down on the Southern border of Ithilien fighting the Southrons that had attacked and after that attended the meeting. Now he was here, at home, with his wonderful wife in his arms. He had been secrative about where he was going, but he had a sneaking suspcion that Eowyn already knew where he had been.
'There is bad news that comes with my return. War has been declared between Gondor and the southern country of Harad.'
Faramir let go of Eowyn and walked over to the fallen, smoldering sword. He grinned, her work was good, but could be better.
'Make sure you hit the hammer square on, or you end up with dents in the blade.'

Her face fell. War? Again? Didn't anyone ever learn? Before a million questions raced through her head she held her anger that was rising to its highest zenith inside. "What?" Eowyn asked Faramir. He was joking right? However, if it was a war, Eowyn would be ready for it.
She opened her mouth to speak about his comment on her sword skills. She crossed her arms. "I have too hit it square on." She murmured slightly before looking down at the floor and then she glanced back up at him. "So that's what you say to me when you come home?" She was trying to stay serious but it seemed to be failing when a smile crept upon her face.

Faramir looked grave. He laid the sword he had picked up down gently as not to bend the warm blade. He walked across the room and gazed out of the window at the towering form of Minas Morgul. He looked over his shoulder to Eowyn.
'Yes, war. The Queen of Harad attacked the southern borders of Ithilien. I have been there Stewarding the battle.' He wondered if Eowyn would be angry because he had not informed her. 'I attended a meeting with Aragorn and Eomer earlier and she declared war when Aragorn refused her Gondorian territory.'
A grin krept onto Faramir's face. 'Yes. But I have more bad news. I will not be staying long. I must ride out by this evening to meet with Damrod and with Beregond and send them to the King's side. There is no rider as swift or as knowledgable as I when it comes to riding in Ithilien. Time is once again against us.'

Eowyn gritted her teeth when she listened about what he'd been through. She declared war. How could she?! She shook head furiously. She sighed heavily and tried to keep calm. She was upset. No, way past upset, she was furious. He hadn't informed her where she was, even though she had a slight uneasy feeling where he had gone to. And she was right. She looked at him and softened her features.
"This evening?" She squeaked. She hadn't seen Faramir in forever and now he was here with her but now he had to leave again? She bit her bottom lip, giving him a half smile. He indeed was one of the best riders in Ithilien. Eowyn almost laughed at the thought. "But...why not tomorrow?" She asked curiously slightly venturing over to Faramir. Eowyn sighed. They'd only be together for a short while.

Faramir sighed and again looked east. The tower of Barad-dur had been destroyed, but the flame of Mounth Doom had been rekindeled and it was erupting far worse than it had ever done before. Ash, soot, rock and lava poured and exploded out of the volcano. If that wasn't a sign of war, then nothing was. Faramir turned to face Eowyn.
'War is upon us. We must part once more for some time. However, I will ride to Minas Tirith in three days time and you shall take up dwelling there for the time, Ithilien is no longer safe, Eowyn.'
Faramir smiled. 'And with the possibility of a child on the way, you cannot afford to risk fighting.'
((HA! I needed some way of making you not be able to fight.... *grins*)

Eowyn looked into the deep grey eyes that seemed to show little emotion, at least to her. Eowyn felt a slight breeze brush by her as she walked furthur toward the window, next to Faramir. It seemed more serious than she thought. She grimaced. War was always serious and yes with the possibility of her own child inside her, she wouldn't want any harm of the sort. But she wanted to fight. She got to fight in the last war, but undercover and she was brutally injured, but she didn't care. She had fought for the freedom, justice and for the people. That was what she cared the most...besides Faramir. She smiled softly. She cast her eyes out into the distance not looking at him directly anymore. Eowyn knew that she had to stay and fight protecting the people of Ithilien.
"But what about the people, Faramir?" She asked after a moment of thinking, letting it all sink through. "Who's to watch after them? You can't expect me to stay dwelled up in Minas Tirith!" Eowyn's voice raised louder. "I can't keep weidling swords or reading books repeatedly, Faramir..." She didn't even knit. Maybe she could knit for their possible child to be. She rolled her eyes. She wasn't knitting. She could let the midwife do that. Or whomever...She shrugged and sighed.
((Grr...))

Faramir looked at Eowyn. 'The people of Ithilien are my responsibility. I will remain here with the White Company and we will defend the country. All that can will be evactuated to Minas Tirith soon anyway, and you will be among them. I will not step down, you may be bearing our child and we cannot risk it!'
Faramir looked out of the window again.
'We will not let Ithilien fall. My men and I will defend it wuth our lives, although I hope it will not come to that. But yes, I must make for Damrod and Beregond this evening, or I will not arrive to govern my own meeting in time!' Faramir laughed. The Council of Gondor was his responsibility, and he chaired the meeting, although King Elessar would be in attendance, it was the job of the Steward.
'Eowyn, you must understand....'

Eowyn stared at him as the tension rose in her muscles. The anger flared in her dark brown eyes when he finished speaking, but lessened when her cheeks paled. It was funny how emotions could change throughout.
She walked next to him and laced her hands through his and leaned against him gently. "I do undestand." Eowyn whispered softly, and she let the single tear fall down her cheek. She watched it hit the cement floor and she smiled. She bit her lip, worried about Faramir. Eowyn had done it before, but she didn't know if she could do this again. She had to be doing something for her own sake.

Faramir sighed, a great burden had been lifted from his shoulders. The idea of ensuring that Eowyn would not be involved in the fighting that would, no doubt, take place had been hard to bare, but now it was over and she had agreed with his view point. 'Worry not. We shall be together for some time as the Great Council takes place. The Queen will have to take time to amass her forces and that gives us time to plan our strategies. A number of the White Company rode out this morning 'ere my arrival and command. Berethrond shall take command of the southern forces in my absence.'
'Perhaps you should freshen up and return and we shall eat out on the terrace in the splendour of the lands of Emyen Arnen one more time before battle and talk of battles engulfs us all.' Faramir slammed the flat side of the hammer down onto the blade for the sword, not far from the tang. The sword was complete. 'And then I shall ride with the sword crafted by the Lady Eowyn.'

'Use that sword well...' She cringed when she heard the loud clang of the sword's edge on the hard rock's surface, echoing in the room. She opened her eyes and stared at him once the man was finished. 'You're talking about it as if it's easy when you know deep down inside your heart that it is not!' She yelled, not really giving up that easily. She couldn't just sit here and watch Faramir walk away after they were through. He didn't know how hard it was on her.
'Do you know what risk you're taking? What if I am with child and you'd fallen in one of the battles...the more you talk about it, the more I worry!!' She snapped. How could he just do this... she frowned.
'It's not like you have a choice is it?' She inquired, staring into his greyish blue eyes, before she decided to stalk off out of the weaponry room. She just needed the time alone to think, but she knew she didn't have much time at all. Tonight was his last stay before he took off, which just made her all the more insane.
